The home was built in 1952. The ground under the crawlspace has shifted and the sewer lines under the house are leaking causing the ground to erode. I can't replace the sewer lines until I know that the house is properly seated or secured to the foundation.

I called three different foundation repair places to get bids, 2 of them did not spend much time looking over the foundation (about 20 mins) they talked about what they do and said they would get back me 1 to 2 weeks on the estimate.

AZ Foundations came out and the estimator was very professional and got on his hands and knees went over the foundation showing me what was happen. He showed pictures on the materials they use and how it’s installed, the estimator was very nice and took his time. He then sat down with me and gave me an estimate on sight all within 1-½ hours.

The worker that showed up to do the work was very professional and did a great job and cleaning up after was perfect; it only took 6 hours to get the work done. I was going to pay the rest of the bill when the employee that did the work told to me hold off on writing the check. He called the office talked to them about what was done and that it was not as bad as we thought it going to be and gave me a bill lower then was agreed on contact. This makes me feel great about a company that is willing to bill less then what was agreed on. I wish other companies would do this; they would just charge what was quoted and leave.

This is very top-notch company; I like the warranty that comes with their work it was the best out of three. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

1) Unless I have missed it, we are still waiting for a formal warranty for the work done? As I understood it, the warranty is transferable should we sell our house. This is important since the original contract included slabjacking which was found not be be necessary; however, more extensive drilling was necessary to reach solid ground (up to 32' in one section, if I recall correctly). The net cost was a "wash" but I would like to document the details of work done.

2) In the contract there was a note about providing a video copy of the work done. I spoke with Jack McGuire about obtaining that but have not seen anything yet. A DVD might be the most practical method of sending it to us.

3) It appears that in collecting their tools, one of the workman may have inadvertently picked up a tape measure I left at the house. It is a 25" Stanley chrome tape measure which I left in the otherwise vacant house. Jack said he would check with Vic (?) the crew leader to see if it could be located. Or if not, replace it.

A long line of tiles cracked diagonally across a large section of my house, another line of tiles have what seems to be a growing gap in the grout line. Loose tiles have come up and there are significant cracks under them, like quarter inch. There is a growing gap between the slab in the house and the garage. The house is 40 years old, so it really doesn't seem like what would be considered normal settling.
